Livable bathrooms for older people: designing out dependence in activities of daily living. This project aims to establish the design fundamentals needed for the development of more flexible, innovative and safer bathroom fixtures and domestic bathroom environments for older Australians. It provides an understanding of bathroom features and characteristics that function well for older persons and those that diminish their wellbeing.

Summary
Decision making in older people approaching the end of life. End of life care provides an ideal framework in which to explore the principle of individual autonomy and consumer decision making. Older people at a high risk of dying in 6 months will be recruited from acute care wards, and asked about preferences for involvement in end of life decision making in a standardised interview survey. Surrogate decision makers and physicians will be asked to answer the same questions from the patient's per ....Decision making in older people approaching the end of life. This project aims to increase the uptake of advance personal planning among people aged 65 years or over in the community by developing, implementing and evaluating a community action model. People have a legal right to engage in advance personal planning, a process that helps them discuss and document their financial, personal and health preferences, in case they later lose the ability to make or communicate decisions. Keeping my place in the community: achieving successful ageing-in-place for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This project, in partnership with aged care and disability agencies across two states, aims to examine ways the aged care, social and health needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities may be met in rural and urban settings. It will explore mechanisms that will lead to a better integration of the aged care and disability sectors.
Ageing Well at Home: Measuring the Impact of Community Care for Older People. The level of care required to maintain people at home varies significantly. Outcomes relate to the individual consumer's needs and require monitoring to ensure actual needs based on thorough assessment are being met. This study refines, tests and applies measures of the outcomes of essential community aged care service packages in a range of settings across New South Wales.
