Violence against women is twice the global average in Pacific Island Communities, yet most approaches about how to police it have come from the Global North. This project addresses this mismatch by discovering new ways to improve the policing of gender violence by testing unique models of women led policing. The changing meanings of human eggs in fertility, assisted reproduction and stem cell research. Australian women are faced with difficult choices regarding when to have children. Assisted reproductive technologies for donating and banking fertile oocytes (eggs) are becoming important elements in these choices. This research will improve public and professional understanding of the changing meanings oocytes have for various groups of women.

Most women use contraception for much of their lives, yet we know little about how they experience the effects on their bodies and relationships. This project aims to understand women’s experiences of sexual violence perpetrated by an intimate partner, identify their help-seeking needs, and explore the use of the internet as a means of support. Although one in ten Australian women have experienced sexual violence by a male partner, with severe effects on wellbeing and quality of life, sexually abusive behaviours such as rape, assault, coercion and threats within relationships ar ....Web-based help-seeking for intimate partner sexual violence. This project aims to understand women’s experiences of sexual violence perpetrated by an intimate partner, identify their help-seeking needs, and explore the use of the internet as a means of support. Although one in ten Australian women have experienced sexual violence by a male partner, with severe effects on wellbeing and quality of life, sexually abusive behaviours such as rape, assault, coercion and threats within relationships are poorly understood. The project will provide women with an evidence-based, trauma-informed website that will help them name the abuse, provide initial support and promote help-seeking.
