The network will build research enterprises that promote the health and well-being of children and young people through the enhancement of relevant public policy and civic institutions. It will bring together researchers from universities, government agencies, non-government organisations and peak bodies in recognition of the important research being done in and acro ....Network for Innovation in Research and Public Policy to Promote the Health and Wellbeing of Australia's Children and Young People. The network will build research enterprises that promote the health and well-being of children and young people through the enhancement of relevant public policy and civic institutions. It will bring together researchers from universities, government agencies, non-government organisations and peak bodies in recognition of the important research being done in and across these sectors. It will build on existing established, formal and informal relationships between researchers, as well as seek to forge new relationships. Social research network for sustainable rural communities. The triple bottom line of social, economic and environmental imperatives forms the accepted ingredients of sustainability. While the economic and environmental dimensions have been relatively well researched, there is insufficient understanding of the socio-cultural dimensions and how these determine environmental and health outcomes. The interactions between the dimensions are also poorly understood. While there are some researchers in ....Social research network for sustainable rural communities. How can communities sustainably manage coral reefs? This project is relevant to the National Research Priority: An Environmentally Sustainable Australia. Key outcomes will include:
- a better understanding the most effective co-management arrangements for coral reefs;
- an evaluation of whether Australia's co-management models have the design principles associated with long-term success; and
- new insights into the socioeconomic environments under which co-management may be an effecti ....How can communities sustainably manage coral reefs? This project is relevant to the National Research Priority: An Environmentally Sustainable Australia. Key outcomes will include:
- a better understanding the most effective co-management arrangements for coral reefs;
- an evaluation of whether Australia's co-management models have the design principles associated with long-term success; and
- new insights into the socioeconomic environments under which co-management may be an effective management option.
These outcomes will promote the sustainable use of Australia's biodiversity by strengthening the capacity of co-management institutions. This project will also promote Australia's research capacity by providing research funds for one PhD student and one Honours student.
