Video analysis suite for the integrative analysis of resource acquisition behaviour in animals. How do animals find food, choose places to live and select mates? How do insect swarms and fish schools make collective decisions without leaders? These are fundamental questions in understanding the ecological roles and environmental impacts of endangered native and damaging invasive animals. The video analysis suite will be used to analyse the behaviour of such animals in environments from the land ....Video analysis suite for the integrative analysis of resource acquisition behaviour in animals. Current sexual selection theory explains how one sex can be strongly sexually selected through competition or mate choice, or how sexual selection can push both sexes in the same direction through mutual mate choice. Under-appreciated as potential study subjects, desert gobies are ideal because males must make important reproductive decisions regarding how much effort to spend on mate attraction and parental care but, importantly, they must do so within the constraints imposed by desert-living.
