To develop an Indigenous Governance Research Network. This initiative is the first national attempt at networking research in the emerging field of Indigenous Governance. The aim is to develop a collaborative and productive research network on Indigenous Governance, well informed by expertise from Australia and internationally.

The Network will be unique - nationally and internationally. Expected outcomes include, improved research practice; enhanced understanding of the components of Indigenous governance; practical application of research findings; and enhanced governance capacity.

High quality legal research must increasingly be global and comparative. Australian researchers have led development of an international consortium of University-based free-access providers of legal information that rival commercial sources, and run one of the hubs of its network (WorldLII). An Intergenerational Oral History of the Koori Courts. This intergenerational oral history project aims to capture the creation of the Koori Courts in Victoria: an innovative culturally appropriate response to the overrepresentation of Indigenous people in prisons. The project will capture this significant story while the key players are still with us. Outcomes include: building the capacity of Indigenous researchers, identifying insights into institutional change and creating a touring exhibit ....
