Australasia has the highest global extinction rates, yet despite the wide circulation of visual images of extinction little is known about how they affect people. We focus on the structure and maintenance of Hmong within the immigrant community in North Queensland across several generations of speakers, within the context of multilingual repertoires involving Australian English and Lao.
