Summary
The sequencing of the human genome brings the possibility of more accurate identification of the underlying basis of many diseases. This technology has moved so rapidly, however, that clinical access has been limited. In this application, a national alliance of clinicians, researchers, health economists and policymakers will evaluate the case for clinical genomics across inherited disease and cancer, determine how best to deliver this to the patient and train a capable workforce.
Options, Opportunities and Older people: An exploration of care transitions of older people. Older Australians experience transition points in type and level of support needed to age in their place of choice. Transition points refer to some form of destabilisation in the life of the older person resulting in a changed level of care required along the continuum of care options and opportunities available. Revitalising Country: The Lurujarri and Tjilbruke Walking Trails. This project aims to expand Australian tourism to include more Indigenous walking trails. With two Indigenous partner communities, the project expects to generate new knowledge for intergenerational knowledge transfer, reciprocal care, and tourism research using Indigenous theory and methods.
