Cancer immunotherapy by “checkpoint blockade” boosts the immune response and leads to tumour rejection in some patients. To improve immunotherapy, information will be sought on the capacity of membrane vesicles prepared from dendritic cells (DC) to stimulate immune cells (T cells) in mice and elicit tumour rejection. Experiments are proposed to trace the fate of the vesicles after injection and improve tumour rejection by combination with checkpoint blockade and addition of cytokines.

Summary
Educational and health outcomes of Indigenous children are extremely poor, particularly in remote areas. High rates of ear disease, particularly “runny ears” and “glue ear”, and hearing loss throughout early childhood contribute to developmental delay. Vaccines to prevent ear disease could be used more effectively. This project is evaluating a novel combination schedule of two different licenced vaccine formulations to maximise protection and improve ear health, hearing and school readiness.

Summary
This study will be the first to evaluate three promising new treatments for anorexia nervosa (AN) and anorexic type eating disorders in adults. The first treatment is a new therapy called Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The second treatment, the Maudsley Cognitive Motivational Therapy, was designed specifically to treat AN and the third treatment is called non-specific supportive clinical management. The study will be in the form of a multi-centre randomised treatment trial.
