Summary
Alcohol use in pregnancy is a sensitive issue and women want information about the risks of drinking alcohol during pregnancy. This project will develop effective messages suitable for a media campaign on alcohol use in pregnancy. Information will be collected from women, including women who are planning a pregnancy, to develop messages. These will then be tested with women of childbearing age to identify messages that powerfully promote healthy choices about alcohol.

This PhD will focus specifically on HIV among men who have sex with men in Victoria in effort to identify factors that may explain recent increases in rates of new HIV diagnoses and explore characteristics associated with HIV risk. It will incorporate surveillance and epidemiological data, examinations of local health promotion and HIV prevention initiatives and incorporate modelling methods for HIV to support HIV prevention programs and inform health and service planning in Australia.
Promoting Physical Activity Participation Among Adolescents With Cerebral Palsy - A Randomised Clinical Trial.

Adolescents with cerebral palsy (CP) are amongst the least active members of society. These decreased activity levels places them at high risk of additional disability and disease. This program of study focuses on (i) validation of an objective community based measure of Habitual Physical Activity (HPA) and (ii) a community based randomised clinical trial comparing a novel approach “motivational training” with a standard care intervention to enhance HPA in adolescents with CP.
