This project analyses leadership of the Australian environment movement and its relationship to the articulation and negotiation of environmental threats and conflict. This research maps environmental leadership across Australia, asking how its formation and evolution impacts on public environmental debate.

Human-caused climate change is a fact but the ecological responses are uncertain. These could include accelerated tree growth, expansion of rainforest, and thickening of woodlands, although cessation of Aboriginal firing may be equally important.
