Smart Use of Information Technologies (SUITs). The SUITs network will develop critical mass in world-class, leading-edge research into the smart use of information and communication technology (ICT) through integration of research within the dispersed Australian ICT research community and through facilitating international linkages. The network will undertake research applicable in key sectors including the health, education, service, knowledge and media industries. The network will undertake research applicable in key sectors including the health, education, service, knowledge and media industries. The aim is to establish a higher order of coordination and collaboration in research into ICT applications.
The feasibility study proposed will engage key stakeholders, refine research goals and investigate linkage mechanisms to improve Australia's ICT research and its contribution to economic and social well-being.

Summary
Many kidney diseases commence with injury to glomeruli (kidney filters) which leads to glomerular scarring and loss. There is strong evidence from animal studies that a specific glomerular cell type (the podocyte) is central to this process of glomerular injury. In this study, we will analyse the relationships between podocyte depletion and glomerular scarring in human kidneys from 5 racial groups (white and African Americans, white and Aboriginal Australians, Senegalese Africans).
New digital deep-time exploration tools for a low-emissions economy. Demand for critical minerals will soar as renewable energy generation increases, but exploration companies currently cannot take full advantage of available exploration data in an Earth evolution context. This project will generate new knowledge in big and complex geodata analysis using an innovative data mining approach. Fathers, family violence and intervention challenges. Men who use family violence remain a strong presence in the lives of their children. In this project, a research consortium of government, Indigenous organisations, and Non-Government Organisations (NGOs) will identify the fathering issues and develop standards for practice interventions in this contentious area in which the need is great and the evidence is partial.
Assistive technologies for autism support harnessing social media. This project aims to tap social media to revolutionize early intervention therapy for children with autism. By creating open, extensible software for therapy delivery, and tools for parents to access high quality information and support, we will provide children a greater chance to achieve their potential and much-needed relief for parents and carers.
