Next generation real-time trajectory mining for travel and transportation decision support. Mining human and vehicle trajectories in real time will enable a suite of next-generation applications such as traffic overload prediction, real-time event detection and route recommendation. This project will develop novel techniques for immediate mining of massive volumes of trajectory data as it is being continuously generated.
Virtual Collaborative Logistics and Partner to Partner Information Systems. Increasingly there is a tendency around the world for logistics companies that provide transport and warehousing services to band together to share their physical resources so they can extend their reach beyond their current region of operation. When this is coupled with internet ordering and status monitoring one has an e-logistics company that is a virtual logistics provider that gives access to these shared resources ....Virtual Collaborative Logistics and Partner to Partner Information Systems. Increasingly there is a tendency around the world for logistics companies that provide transport and warehousing services to band together to share their physical resources so they can extend their reach beyond their current region of operation. When this is coupled with internet ordering and status monitoring one has an e-logistics company that is a virtual logistics provider that gives access to these shared resources. Such a virtual collaborative logistics consortium requires very strong partner-to-partner IT support and communication. This project investigates the use of XML (Extensible Mark-up Language) enabled mobile software agents to provide this support.Read moreRead less

Modern Australian law is very heavily based on legislation, and the amount and complexity of legislation increases every year, particularly delegated legislation. It is essential that legislation be interpreted and applied accurately and efficiently for Australia to have high quality legal research, for the operation of the rule of law, and for the effective operation of the legal system. This project will contribute to all of these national benefits by providing free access for all Australian legal researchers and lawyers to a comprehensive national collection of legislation which meets international best practice standards, includes delegated legislation, and integrates all legislation-related materials.Read moreRead less

It is difficult to find Australian legal scholarship of the last 50 years because too little of it is available online or searchable from any central location. The Australian Legal Scholarship Library, located on AustLII, will remedy that by creating a comprehensive repository for Australian academic and non-profit law journals, law school repositories for all of their new scholarship no matter where it is eventually published, and smart methods of finding how legal documents relate to each other. People researching Australian law, whether for business, academic or community purposes, will benefit from better access to this wealth of expertise.Read moreRead less

This project aims to design novel spatial data retrieval methods for efficient and accurate querying of large datasets with location information. Spatial data is being generated at an unprecedented rate due to the prevalence of mobile devices and ubiquitous connectivity. However, harnessing this data is hampered by outdated and inefficient methods. The project will investigate data retrieval methods that self-optimise for high query efficiency and accuracy, by utilising underlying real-world data patterns. It will enable novel applications for virtual spatial systems with large-scale querying needs, such as spatial digital twins and metaverses, benefiting location-based service providers, urban planners, and emergency management agencies.Read moreRead less
