This cross-disciplinary study investigates recent arenas of violence, from the genocide in Rwanda to ethnic cleansing in the Balkans, militia activities in East Timor and the War on Terrorism in Afghanistan. Using an ethnographic and longitudinal approach, the project expects to generate new insights into the conditions, capacities and identity resources which help and hinder intercultural relationships among such youth.
