A high-speed PIV facility for kinematic investigation of rapid transient and pulsatile fluid flows. The unprecedented frame rate of high-speed PIV allows the detail investigation of turbulent and unsteady flows, hitherto inaccessible to researchers other than by measurement at a single point.
