The objective of this research is to investigate the export performance drivers of services firms, and consider how these drivers differ across service types. Previous research into export performance drivers has focused primarily on manufacturers. However, theory in services marketing suggests that there are not only key differences between service firms and manufacturers, but also key differences across different service types. This research is both timely and critical given the recently stated Federal Government objective of doubling the number of exporters over the next five years, and the fact that the services sector is the fastest growing export sector.Read moreRead less

The results will aid policy makers in their assessment of harm minimisation strategies such as voluntary self-exclusion. Discovering when 'flawed' thinking about previous gambling episodes can be used to justify potentially irresponsible gambling decisions will assist in the design of new prevention measures for irresponsible gamblers and those at risk. The strategies developed here will be useful for gamblers to empower themselves and avoid behaviour they will regret later. Australia will benefit from insights into how and why irresponsible episodes occur and how to prevent them. Read moreRead less

This projects aims to examine how patients interact collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a health system (co-creation). Governments and health-care providers continually seek new ways to be more efficient and to create more effective health service outcomes. This research aims to identify why co-creation will be important in the formulation of future health policy. The project plans to assess patient-centred practices using qualitative and quantitative health outcome measures and to model the patient’s end-to-end journey by developing new metrics. The intended outcomes are practical guidelines to help health professionals focus on the most effective co-creation activities and interactions. The research aims to determine how co-creation practices shape a service ecosystem by examining the effectiveness of a patient-centred approach on health care service outcomes. Findings will improve the implementation of health care practices.Read moreRead less

This network brings together a multi-disciplinary research group to enhance frontier science in managerial/consumer decision making and choice behaviour. Our focus will on using our interaction to develop normative and descriptive theory by operationalising theories and methods from a mixture of disciplines. Individual/group decisions/choices underlie many aggregate societal phenomena like election outcomes, consumer demand, technology adoption, etc. Better understanding of such processes will lead to better models, better forecasts and better decision outcomes for Australia, and smarter use of information and data; something that can only come from a multi-disciplinary interaction of theory and method.Read moreRead less

This project focuses on market segmentation and planning strategy through the development of under-used geo-referenced data sources. Specifically, the project seeks to combine two key market intelligence software tools (Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and Data Mining Systems) with the primary focus being on the Australian automobile industry. Spatial data mining approaches will be used to sift through massive volumes of data, uncover patterns, and generate knowledge through effective database management techniques. This research will open new inter-disciplinary frontiers between marketing and GIS, with the outcomes expected to provide valuable information for decision makers at the academic, industry and governmental levels.Read moreRead less

National social and economic development is impacted and shaped by the quality of decisions made by industry leaders who work in uncertain and risky environments. Nowhere is uncertainty and risk greater than in the Australian business community where success or failure depends on the way relationships with suppliers and customers are managed. Supply chain relationship decisions are often made in situations and contexts in which there is inadequate theory, research findings, or more generally insufficient knowledge and experience. This study will provide a rare opportunity to learn from a global supply chain leader and thereby make a contribution to national social and economic prosperity. Read moreRead less
