Deciphering the tectonic history of the Musgrave Block to assist mineral explorers and regional synthesis programs. Effective mineral exploration strategies in complex basement terrains are increasingly reliant on integrated, data-rich, tectonic models. In this project we will focus a large multidisciplinary team to develop a tectonic model for the evolution of the Musgrave Block in central Australia. Integrative assessment of disturbance and land-use change on total greenhouse gas balance and nutrient cycling in savanna ecosystems. Climate change and variability is expected to have an impact on the NT environment and economy. This project will enable NT specific calibrations of climate variability-land use models, such as the National Carbon Accounting System. Aboriginal place names and ethnobiology: enhancing interpretation of Indigenous culture and heritage. This project looks at how Indigenous people’s knowledge of place names and bush tucker can create opportunities for Indigenous communities in areas such as tourism. The project aims to do this by harnessing new advances in digital media which offer new ways of passing on this knowledge to both Indigenous and intercultural audiences.

Automating the smart home: an investigation of automated cooling practices. Home automation technologies are expected to achieve reductions in household energy costs and consumption. However, there has been no systematic investigation of the ways in which they are being incorporated into everyday life. The project aims to address this critical gap in relation to home cooling.
