Summary
When should health professionals override parents' decisions about a child's medical treatment? Doctors and nurses sometimes disagree with parents' decisions about the best treatment for a sick child. This project will establish the ethical responsibilities of both parents and health professionals in relation to medical decision-making for children.
Involving children in social research: balancing the risks and benefits. There is a growing consensus that children's involvement in social research is important, but considerable uncertainty remains around children's inclusion in research on 'sensitive' issues, reflecting concerns about how to balance children's protection with their participation.
