Transnational environmental crime: applying network theory to an investigation of illegal trade, criminal activity and law enforcement responses. This project investigates illegal environmental trade, one of the fastest growing areas of transnational crime, and explores how governments and other actors can best develop effective law enforcement responses. It will expand our understanding of an under-researched field and strengthen the regulatory capacity of Australian government agencies.

The aim is to develop a collaborative and productive research network on Indigenous Governance, well informed by expertise from Australia and internationally.

Courts, politics and power in Southeast Asia. Are the courts taking over political life in Southeast Asia? This comparative study of high courts in Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines will examine ways in which these courts have become central to political life in those nations. It will focus particularly on the consequences for democratic rule and the rule of law in society.
The accountability priorities of federal parliamentarians and whether they are reflected in the Commonwealth budgetary and reporting framework. Senate committees provide the main forum in which elected representatives can directly scrutinise the actions of public officials. The project, by providing new detailed evidence about the accountability priorities of Senators, will contribute to ongoing debate about how to improve the quality of information provided by government agencies to Parliament ....The accountability priorities of federal parliamentarians and whether they are reflected in the Commonwealth budgetary and reporting framework. Some researchers focus on the post-war professionalisation of advocacy; others suggest that the internet is positively (re)shaping the structure of such systems and their democratic capacities. This project adjudicates on such accounts through exploring the size and composition, through time, of the Australian system of organised interests. Using innovative methodologies, it assesses the presence and prominence of particular interests in legislative, administrative, print-media and ‘on-line’ arenas.
