Long-standing housing problems in Australia have exacerbated social division and conflicts within Australia. This project will investigate the causes and impact of these social divisions and conflicts. Its findings will provide insights about the conduct of social policy and the capacity governments to address contemporary housing problems.

It will contribute to the international scholarship on globalisation and rural studies and will assist governments develop policies more sensitive to farmers' needs. It will also be the starting point for comparable research projects internationally.
