Advanced Computational Modelling Infrastructure Network in Built Environment. The infrastructure will support and complement existing areas of specialisation at the three collaborating Victorian schools of architecture including research in urban modelling and simulation, building management and life-cycle simulations, spatial decision-making, automated data capture and modelling of complex building geometries for heritage applications. . Language occupies a central role on the web: most content is expressed in language, and most access takes place via natural language search. Today, investigation of human language depends on access to this vast store of language data. This project will develop new infrastructure for accessing language resources, namely a language-aware search engine. Language technologies will be employed to classify web content, and a special search keyword 'lang:' will constrain search results to be in the specified language. The system will be integrated with major language archives in Australia and overseas, and deployed on the high performance computing infrastructure at Melbourne University's Advanced Research Computing Centre.

A scheme of local compilation of mobile collectors for image and video search engines. The object collector is an important component in a Web search engine. A collector collects Web objects (text, image, video, etc), extracts their features and builds an index file for the search engine. Sending each object to the collector is always the worst option with respect to resource usage because it is the feature, not the entire object, which will be used in indexing and retrieval.
