Material Deprivation and Social Exclusion among Young Australians: A Child-Focused Approach. This project aims to extend recent research on adult social disadvantage to examine the circumstances of young Australians, aged between 11 and 16 years. New indicators will be developed that build on and reflect the attitudes, views and experiences of young people. Summary indicators will be developed and used to examine how the nature and severity of disadvantage varies with factors such as age, school and location.
