It is an untested assumption that older adults can compensate for age-related changes in cognitive control function to perform at the same level as younger adults. This project aims to be the first to test this widely-held assumption and will examine changes in cognitive control and the emergence of compensation over the adult ....Cognitive Compensation in Ageing. This project seeks to better understand important questions related to work injury and its consequences within the context of the ageing Australian labour market. These include understanding how occupational and age-related factors impact on the risk of work injury and if the relationship between age and recovery and safe return to work after injury.
Trajectories and turning points for women's reproductive health. This project will take a whole life perspective to investigate women’s reproductive health. It uses data from more than 150,000 women in 10 cohort studies across six nations. Findings will advance our understanding of reproductive health and will support a more tailored approach to women’s health policy and strategies for healthy ageing.
Driving performance and self-regulation practices in drivers with dementia . Despite the high prevalence of dementia in older drivers, a substantial gap remains in the evidence regarding the natural progression of the disease and its impact on fitness to drive. This project will use a combination of real-time, in-vehicle driver monitoring devices and a state-of-the-art driving simulator.
