Keeping my place in the community: achieving successful ageing-in-place for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This project, in partnership with aged care and disability agencies across two states, aims to examine ways the aged care, social and health needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities may be met in rural and urban settings. It will explore mechanisms that will lead to a better integration of the aged care and disability sectors.

This project builds on this knowledge to investigate the inter-personal discrimination young people with disabilities experience in public and the impact of this discrimination on their social, economic, cultural and emotional lives. A health economic model for the development and evaluation of innovations in aged care: an application to consumer directed care. This project will investigate the preferences, quality of life outcomes and cost effectiveness of a new consumer directed care approach to community aged care service delivery for older people. Improving the diagnostic accuracy of detecting functional decline in older people discharged from hospital emergency departments. There is no accurate early screening tool to detect the loss of ability in older people to live independently. This research evaluates a new screening tool to identify the risk of functional decline. This will assist hospital staff to put appropriate discharge plans in place to mitigate against functional decline.
