This project will explore a partnership model for capacity building in Indigenous child protection services. It will also evaluate the effectiveness, acceptability and sustainability of a culturally adapted evidence-based parenting program designed to reduce family risk factors and child behavioural and emotional problems in Indigenous families.

Young women’s contact with justice and welfare agencies has increased rapidly across Australia and the world, creating a crisis that is costly and harmful, especially for young Indigenous women. Pathways into these systems are gendered; but the systems were designed to address the needs of young male offenders. Alcohol is a major cause of social, legal and health concerns for Indigenous Australians. This has led to significant political involvement in the regulation of alcohol in communities where Australian Indigenous people live. Alcohol management plans have most recently been used as a central device for reducing alcohol-related harms, particularly in remote areas. Indigenous societies, governance and wellbeing: a study of Indigenous community success in addressing disadvantage and promoting wellbeing. This is the first in-depth place-based Australian study of Indigenous community 'success' in overcoming disadvantage and promoting well being across all seven National Indigenous Reform Agreement (Closing the Gap) 'building blocks'. It will provide invaluable insights about the relationship between Indigenous governance and wellbeing in Australia.
The deterrent effects of Australian drug law enforcement. Drug law enforcement efforts have been underpinned by the assumption that police deter or prevent drug use and trafficking, yet deterrent effects have gone unexamined or measured using narrow parameters. By using modern criminological conceptualisations of deterrence and innovative methods, this project aims to measure the deterrent effects of four Australian policing strategies on current and would-be offenders' decisions to use, possess ....The deterrent effects of Australian drug law enforcement.
